Born in Southampton, England, Niraj Chag mixed Eastern and Western music elements so expertly that he was signed by Outcaste Records, London’s leading independent label specializing in British Asian artists. He also found success in Asia with his group Dum Dum Project and began composing music for Bollywood as well as U.S. television shows like Sex in the City. In 2007 he won Best Asian Underground Act at the U.K. Asian Music Awards. Three years in the making, his album Along the Dusty Road was deeply personal, as evidenced by the track “Khwaab”.
